Bratny. Hamlet gunned down – Meeting with the author Emil Marat in Opole and Łambinowice
You are very welcome to come to a unique meeting with Emil Marat, author of Bratny. Hamlet gunned down, which will take place in the first days of October, a few days before the 80th anniversary of the arrival of the first transport of Warsaw insurgents in Stalag 344 Lamsdorf.
Emil Marat, whom will be hosted by us at the Central Museum of Prisoners-of-War in Łambinowice on 2 October at 5 p.m., and one day earlier, on 1 October at 6 p.m., in the Municipal Public Library in Opole, is a writer and journalist professionally collaborating with Radio Zet, PiN and Kolor. In his works, he has been exploring for years the fate of heroes associated with the Generation of Columbuses - those who fought, survived, but were also marked by the dramatic events of World War II.
During the meeting, the author will present the person of Roman Bratny, a well-known prose writer, poet and publicist, as well as a Warsaw insurgent and prisoner-of-war of German camps, including Stalag 344 Lamsdorf, who, with his famous novel Kolumbowie. Rocznik 20 paid tribute to his generation. Bratny's life, full of controversy and complicated twists and turns, inspired Marat to write a fascinating biography.
The meeting will be an opportunity to learn what went on behind the scenes of the latest Marat's book, but also about Bratny's works, his complicated life and the fate of the Generation of Columbuses.
The event at the Museum in Łambinowice will be part of the ‘Łambinowice Museum Meetings’ series. It enjoys the patronage of the Mayor of the Łambinowice Commune.
You are cordially invited to the meeting!
