Film on research project ,,Sieniawka”

The interdisciplinary research project entitle ,,History of the sub-camp of the Gross Rosen concentration camp in Sieniawka”, in short "Sieniawka", which is under honorary patronage of our Museum, has aroused the interest of the German news outlet ZDF. The station made and showed a film about realized researches.

The project in Sieniawka (Bogatynia Municipality) has been initiated and conducted by The Lower Silesian Historical Association in collaboration with the Warsaw University of Technology to whom also was invited the Gross-Rosen Museum in Rogoźnica. The main purpose of the project is to reconstruct the fate of people, including the prisoners-of-war, who were forced to work in the armament plant of Junkers (Zittwerke), which was in operation in Sieniawka during Second World War.

The German-language film, split into two 45-minute episodes, is dedicated to the researches, which have been so far carried out on above and underground facilities, and the history of the barracks and the armament plant. It had its TV premiere (on the ZDF INFO channel) on 5 October 2021.
