Film coverage from the anniversary commemoration

Yesterday, on 18 March 2021 at 10.00 a.m., in front of the Monument to the Martyrdom of Prisoners-of-War in Łambinowice, a ceremony was held, commemorating the events from 76 years ago – liberation of Stalag 344 Lamsdorf. Due to sanitary restrictions, only a limited number of people could take part in it, therefore, the event was registered and then – after being enriched with occasional speeches by Wanda Traczyk-Stawska, a prisoner of war of Stalag 344 Lamsdorf, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Culture, National Heritage and Sport, Prof. Dr. Piotr Gliński, the Marshal of Opole Voivodship, Andrzej Buła, representatives of Polish and British circles of POWs' families: Jerzy Pietras and Richard Johnson, as well as Dr. Violetta Rezler-Wasielewska, Director of the Museum – a broadcast will take place at 5 p.m. on the Museum's Facebook profile and on YouTube channel.

The commemoration, which was organized together with the Łambinowice Community Office, was held under the honorary patronage of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Culture, National Heritage and Sport, Prof. Piotr Gliński, the Opole Voivode, Adrian Czubak, and, the Marshal of Opole Voivodship, Andrzej Bula, as well as, under the media patronage of "Nowa Trybuna Opolska", "Nowiny Nyskie", Radio Opole and Radio Doxa.

Yesterday's commemorative ceremony was attended, among others, by the deputy voivode, Teresa Barańska, who later also visited our museum and the memorial site.
