Director of the Museum gave a speech in Bydgoszcz
The tenth anniversary of the Kuyavian–Pomeranian Branch of the Association of Polish Museum Professionals (SMP), which took place on 26 May this year in the main seat of the Leon Wyczółkowski District Museum in Bydgoszcz, provided the opportunity for a solemn meeting of museum workers from all over Poland. One of the lectures was delivered by the director of our Museum.
Dr. Violetta Rezler-Wasielewska, who serves as vice-president of the Association of Polish Museum Professionals, spoke on the topic of the management of museums. In the lecture entitled "Away from the Corpo. Leading the staff in a modern museum", she referred both to her own experiences and to the results of her observations of an environment that has been undergoing major changes, both organisational and cultural, for some time now.
It is worth recalling that the Kuyavian–Pomeranian Branch of the Association of Polish Museum Professionals has been actively contributing to local museum life for 10 years. The Branch was established in 2015 on the initiative of the then director of the District Museum in Bydgoszcz, Michał F. Woźniak, who was one of the speakers at the anniversary meeting - alongside Dr. Michał Niezabitowski, Professor Hubert Kowalski, Marcin Zdanowski and the aforementioned director of the CMJW.
The meeting summed up a decade of busy activities of the Branch and discussed the role of museums in the modern world. In addition, honorary awards were presented to members of the Kuyavia-Pomerania Branch of the SMP. After the conference part, the guests had the opportunity to visit two interesting exhibitions: the “Olga Boznańska and her times” and the “Archaeology in Art” presented at the Modern Art Gallery of the District Museum in Bydgoszcz.
