Curatorial tour of "Place with a Scar”

Yesterday, 12 May, our Museum participated in the 10th edition of European Funds Open Days. Within their framework, at the place of the former Stalag 318/VIII F (344) Lamsdorf we hosted a group of local youth from together with their history teacher Agnieszka Synowiec, from the Public Primary School in Łambinowice, as well as visitors from nearby Niemodlin.

The purpose of the visit was to participate in a guided tour of the open-air educational exhibition "Place with a Scar”. The Museum engaged for this task the following persons: Dr. Anna Wickiewicz, Dr. Michał Jakubik and Dominik Hadas from the Department of Education and Exhibitions. Thanks to that the visitors could get familiar with the content of the exhibition in a comprehensive and multifaceted way, as well as the behind-the-scenes of its creation and additional historical context – expanded to include an analysis of the facts that the exhibition only hints at. Let us remind that the guided tour is a great, in-depth form of confronting the museum exhibition - a work that, due to its form, will never be the equivalent of a scientific work.

We recommend the museum's guiding services to all interested parties.
