Concerts of the Kyiv Symphony Orchestra in Poland

At the request of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, we would like to inform you that a group of over 100 musicians and members of the Kyiv Symphony Orchestra (and their families) have come to Poland to prepare, together with the Polish National Philharmonic and National Institute of Music and Dance, to perform a concert – for the first time since the outbreak of the war – and to a European tour. Their stay in Poland is financed from funds of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, Prof. Piotr Gliński.

The Orchestra can stay in Poland thanks to a special permission issued by the Ukrainian ministries of culture and defence. Its mission is to tell about the bravery of the defenders of Ukraine, the tragedy of those who have died but also about the hope to achieve a victory.

The concert tour will begin on 21 April 2022 in the National Philharmonic in Warsaw, where during a special concert, under the honorary patronage of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, one can listen to pieces presenting Ukrainian classical music from its origin in the 70s of the 18th to masterpieces of the 20th century. The Orchestra will be performing music pieces by Maksym Berezowski, Myrosław Skoryk, and Borys Latoszyński. The concert will be broadcast on Polish radio channel 2.

After the Warsaw's concert, the Kyiv Symphony Orchestra will also be playing in Łódź (23 April). Tickets for the concerts can be purchase at the box offices and on the websites of the National Philharmonic and the Artur Rubinstein Philharmonic in Łódź.
