Concert Treny Katyńskie in the Philharmonic Hall in Opole. Invitation

The Central Museum of Prisoners-of-War and the Museum of the Second World War in partnership with the Institute of National Remembrance are the organisers of the concert Treny Katyńskie. It will take place on 11 April at 11.00 a.m., in the J. Elsner Philharmonic Hall in Opole.

Treny Katyńskie is a chamber piece of music composed for a sextet musical instrument groups consisting of string and wind instruments as well as performance of a soloist. The idea of the piece is a musical contemplation evoked by the events of 82 years ago, when the NKVD officers shot almost 15 thousand Polish prisoners-of-war from the special camps in

This April, named the Month of National Remembrance, there will be organised nationwide venues to commemorate the Katyń Massacre. The upcoming concert, scheduled to take place two days before the anniversary of the announcement of the discovery of mass graves of Polish Army officers, made by Germans in 1943, is part of the programme of events accompanying the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Katyn Massacre.
