This year's sixth edition of the Review brought our institution third prize in the ‘Museum Identification’ category. Organised by the National Institute of Museums, the competition aims to popularise the best and most inspiring graphic solutions and visual identification systems. All museum institutions are welcome to participate in it, regardless of their thematic profile.

The organisers of the event highlighted the fact that the ‘Visible Museum’ is not only a means of assessing the aesthetic level, but also a way of taking a closer look at the ‘graphic language’ used to create the image of Polish museums. In the case of our competition entry, all aspects related to the concept and implementation of a coherent, mature system of visual identification were subject to verification, including: the idea of a graphic logo (signet), typography, the adopted colour palette, external and internal signage of the seats, realisations in the area of promotion (e.g. leaflets and posters), and publications. The first prize in this category went to the National Museum in Gdańsk, the second to the National Museum in Wrocław, while the third prize was awarded to the CMJW together with the Museum in Tarnowskie Góry.

In the other categories of the competition, the winners were: in the ‘Identification of Temporary Exhibitions’ category - POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews, ‘Promotional and marketing campaign’ - National Museum in Wrocław, and ‘Social media management’ - National Museum in Warsaw. No winner was selected in the ‘Website Graphic’ category.

The awards and distinctions were presented at the Central Museum of Textiles in Łódź on 28 October. The award for our Museum was received by its director, Dr. Violetta Rezler-Wasielewska. It should be emphasised that this is a joint success - of our staff, our partner in the advertising industry, the Kraków-based ‘Studio Widok’, and permanent consultants - the architect Andrzej Zatwarnicki and the graphic designer Marek Krajewski.
