Audio induction loops in the Museum

At the beginning of the week, the conference room and the information desk, which also combines the functions of a museum shop, at the Łambinowice seat of the CMJW, were equipped with hearing aids for individuals with reduced ranges of hearing.

Induction loops are used for transmission communication signals to hearing aids equipped with a receiving coil. Currently, around 90 per cent of these types of devices have them built in – all are marked with a "T" symbol. This allows hearing-aid users to receive clear and distinct sound, free of other distracting noise and also independent of the volume setting where the loop is installed.

The inductive-loop system will therefore help us to increase the accessibility of the rooms where visitors will be staying. One loop coil, connected to the sound system, was installed in the conference room. The other is a portable receiving loop.

The purchase of the induction loops was made possible thanks to co-financing from funds of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage from the Fund for the Promotion of Culture - a state special purpose fund within the task 'Purchase of equipment for the modernisation of the building of the Central Museum of Prisoners-of-War in Łambinowice located at 4 Muzealna Street'.
