Artefacts from the Site of Remembrance have just undergone conservation treatment

Another batch of objects unearthed during archaeological works carried out as part of the 'Science for Society, Society for Science at the Site of National Remembrance in Łambinowice' project, has returned to the Museum.

This is the third lot of artefacts which were given to the REWARS company. This time, 110 objects underwent conservation at a cost of PLN 20,000. Let us remind you that previously a treatment was carried out on 37 objects (in March of this year), and last year, in November, the conservation action included the first batch of 101 objects.

It is noteworthy that the conservation intervention involved a large number of personal care products: toothpaste tubes, fragments of safety razors, brush handles and a cream container. In addition, there are many small items of everyday use, such as a thimble, cigarette cases, pens, buckles and buttons. Added to this, there are military identity tags (actually halves of them), including two that belonged to Italian POWs whose remains were discovered in the Old POW Cemetery in Łambinowice, and one which helped identify a Pole, Józef Łabazowicz.
