Archaeology workshops in Łambinowice

Educational classes led by trained archaeologists are one of the events accompanying  the excavations works at the Site of National Remembrance in Łambinowice.

Those who participate in the workshops will find out – in contrast to pop-cultural messages – how an archaeologist’s work really looks like. They will learn basic scientific vocabulary and rules of work on an archaeological dig. They will learn how to use tools such as a total station theodolite, drone, metal detector and a spade and... a rope. Finally, they will get familiar with the latest discoveries made so far in the former site of Stalag 318/VIII (344) Lamsdorf and will find out what happens to the artefacts found there. Most of all, however, they will be able to experience how the work of an archaeologist looks like and meet people who are full of passion.

The workshops will take place on 20 August 2022 (Saturday) at 9.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. in the park next to the building of the Communal Culture, Sports and Recreation Centre in Łambinowice (1 Muzealna Street). Participation is free of charge.

Everyone is welcome regardless of their age. All you need is comfortable clothing and a bit of willingness!

The Science for society, society for science at the Site of National Remembrance in Łambinowice project is co-financed by the Multiannual Government Programme 'Niepodległa' for the year 2022.
