Another curatorial tour of Place with a scar is behind us

Yesterday, during the April episode of the Łambinowice Museum Meetings, visitors participated in a curatorial tour of the new exposition Place with a scar, officially opened less than a month ago.

The Museum always holds participants of the Łambinowice Museum Meetings in high regard. This time, due to the fact the meeting took place at the former Stalag 318/VIII F (344) Lamsdorf, where the new exhibition is placed, the participants could use bicycles or the Melex vehicle made available by the Museum, free of charge, in order to help them to get there.

Everyone was welcomed by Dr. Violetta Rezler-Wasielewska. The Director explained the idea behind the exposition and highlighted the most important stages of its creation, which were later unfolded by other workers of the Museum. Dr. Anna Wickiewicz brought the visitors' attention to the model of the stalag. Monika Sobczak presented the history of the place in the timeline. Dr. Renata Kobylarz-Buła interested everyone in the symbolism of the artistic installation ‘Presence’, and Dr. Anna Czerner explained the idea behind presenting prisoners' voices (quotations) at each infopoints, as well as their shape and the material they are made of. In the partially reconstructed hut of the camp, Dr. Anna Wickiewicz showed the guests a part of the exhibition with sketches by Gieorgii Daniłłow and the educational program that accompanies the exhibition. Michał Jakubik acted as a guide who showed the visitors around the exposition. The station at which the meeting ended was the Wall of Reflection, where the poet Edmund Borzemski shared his personal reflection written in the poem Bell of Silence. The meeting was ended with thanks and farewell.

See you in May!
