Anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Uprising

Again, as it was last year, a group of people who wanted symbolically commemorate the heroes and heroines of the Warsaw Uprising gathered at the Monument to the Warsaw Insurgents - POWs of Stalag 344 Lamsdorf.

On the day of the outbreak of the rise, representatives of the Museum and the Łambinowice Commune authorities, together with Jerzy Czerwiński, senator of the Republic of Poland, Dorota Koncewicz, mayor of Niemodlin, and representatives of the local community lay white and red bouquets and lit candles at the place where, after the end of the fighting in Warsaw, the largest group of insurgents - prisoners-of-war was held.

Commemorations of the 79th anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Uprising were also held in Opole.  At the suggestion of Opole Governor Sławomir Kłosowski, representatives of many Opole communities and institutions, including our Museum - in the person of Dr. Renata Kobylarz-Buła - met at the Armii Krajowej housing estate. After the commemorative speeches and the roll call of remembrance, there was an opportunity to pay your respect at the Monument to the Home Army Soldiers.
