Anniversary of the liberation of Stalag VI C Oberlangen
On the 78th anniversary of the liberation of the Oberlangen POW camp, the Central Military Library in Warsaw and the Office for War Veterans and Victims of Repression organised a meeting dedicated to this event. Our Museum was represented by the head of the Research Department, Dr. Piotr Stanek.
The meeting at the Central Military Library in Warsaw began with commemorative speeches by the organisers. The most important part of it was the presentation of the results of the work of director and history enthusiast Małgorzata Brama, viz. the documentary film Oberlangen (2012) and the book of the same title, which followed it and was published thanks to the support of the Office for War Veterans and Victims of Repression.
The lively discussion afterwards among the gathered guests attested to the great interest in the subject of the meeting and in the film and book presented.
