About Kresowianie at the ‘Łambinowice Museum Meeting’ - invitation
The second instalment of this year's ‘Łambinowice Museum Meeting’ is forthcoming. The event will take place on 2 April and will provide the opportunity to listen to a lecture given by Dr. Krzysztof Kleszcz and Joanna Siek entitled ‘Utracony dom – nowy dom. Kresowianie na Opolszczyźnie [Lost Home - New Home. Borderlands Poles in the Opole Region]’.
The invited guests represent the Silesian Institute in Opole, an institution that has been dealing successfully with this part of the region's history for a long time - the fate of those who were forced to leave their homeland in the Eastern Borderlands, that had been taken away from Poland, and seek a new home in the Western Territories. The Institute's two major projects on this subject are: the publication of three volumes entitled ‘Leksykon – Kresowianie na Śląsku po 1945 r. [Lexicon – The Borderlands Poles in Silesia after 1945]’ and the organisation of the competition ‘Opowiem Ci o Kresach [I will tell you about the Eastern Borderlands],’ which encourages talking to witnesses to history. And it is just in these two initiatives that both of our guests are deeply involved. They will certainly talk about the progress and results of their work, also in the context of the settlement of Kresowianie in the Nysa Region, during the upcoming meeting.
We encourage you to download the ‘Invitation’ below - you will find more details in it.
You are invited to join us Wednesday, 2 April, at 5 p.m. at the Museum building in Łambinowice.
