A POW cigarette case in Oscar Schindler's Enamel Factory
Until 18th of September 2022, will be presented the temporary exhibition Rozstania - poszukiwania. Wojenne losy krakowian [Separations - Searching. The wartime fate of the citizens of Krakow] in Oscar Schindler's Enamel Factory, a branch of the Historical Museum of the City of Krakow. Among the exhibits and materials which make up the exhibition are also POW memorabilia from the collection of our Museum.
So, in the museum branch of the MHMK at 4 Lipowa Street one can admire an ornamented cigarette case of Second Lieutenant Czesław Dobrowolski (a POW in Oflag II C Woldenberg), which was presented to him by his fellow prisoners-of-war, and on the boards of the exhibition one can see scans of, among others, a photograph of a pre-war wrestler and seaman Stanisław Radwan, and papers from the illustrated diary of Lieutenant Franciszek Ulrych.
The curator of the exhibition is Bartosz Heksel, head of the branch of Oscar Schindler's Enamel Factory, who is also the author of the photo used in this piece of information.
