A distinction for the Museum and a medal for the Deputy Director!

Thursday, November 18, was a day of success for the entire staff of the Museum. We have received a distinction in the Opole Province Marshal's Award Competition for the Museum Event of the Year 2020, and Dr. Renata Kobylarz-Buła has received the "Medal of Merit for the Silesian Border Guard Division".

Every year, when the Opole Province Marshal announces which institutions are honoured with the Museum Event Award, it is accompanied by great excitement. This was also the case today, during the evening gala at the Jan Kochanowski Theatre in Opole – all the more that our Museum was appreciated again, receiving a distinction for restoration and construction works on the remains of Stalag 318/VIII F (344) Lamsdorf! The results of last year's work at the site of the former camp can be contributed to many employees, which is why the Museum was represented at the ceremony, apart from the director and her deputy, by representatives of the involved in the project departments: Administration, and Finance.

On the same day, before noon, Dr. Renata Kobylarz-Buła, Deputy Director of the Museum, was also awarded. During the celebrations of the 103rd anniversary of Poland's regaining independence, organized in Racibórz by the Border Guard, Brigadier-General SG Adam Jopek awarded the director with the "Medal of Merit for the Silesian Border Guard Unit".
