100th anniversary of the Third Silesian Uprising
Today is marked the 100th anniversary of the Third Silesian Uprising.
On this occasion our Museum has received a commemorative banknote issued by the Museum of Opole Silesia. On the obverse of the note, there are featured four motifs related to the uprising: the Monument of the Uprising Deed at Saint Anna Mounting by Xsawery Dunikowski (commemoration ceremonies are held in front of it), the Museum of the Uprising Deed at Saint Anna Mounting, which is a branch of the Museum of Opole Silesia, the Polish House, where the Union of Poles in Germany conducted its activity in 1937-1939 and where presently is located the seat of the Museum of the Uprising Deed, and the image of the leader of the uprising, Wojciech Korfanty.
Our Museum also participates in the remembrance of the uprising – the director of the CMJW, Dr. Violetta Rezler-Wasielewska, is a member of the Honorary Committee of the 100th anniversary of the Third Silesian Uprising.
