Temporary exhibitions
Temporaty exibition ‘Ujawnienie/Exposure’
‘Ujawnienie/Exposure’ is a temporary exhibition of reporter’s photographs by Agnieszka Sadowska. It will be on view at the Opole seat of the CMJW until 28 October 2024.
The exhibition is part of this year's Opole Photo Festival. The main theme of it is the crisis on the Polish-Belarusian border. Its depiction, however, is not so obvious. The author ignores political issues and focuses instead on what has happened in the forest and on the people who found themselves in it.
The photographs show two sides of the coin. The migrants with their dilemmas, sufferings, the help they received or what happened when it did not arrive in time. Next to them, on the other hand, we can see the army, the police, lawyers, journalists or social activists doing their, not necessarily easy, duties. Images speak volumes. More than words which have therefore been reduced to just a few sentences. The captions are not the usual museum descriptions, but the information that usually accompanies reporter's photographs. This allows to leave out any guesswork and get to know the facts.
The exhibition is also enriched by film footage - a record of several interviews with refugees and interventions by the services stationed in the border zone.
The exhibition will be on display until 28 October. Admission is free.
We look forward to seeing you!
