Between 12 and 14 June, our Museum extends its invitation to participate in the cycle of events accompanying the exhibition “All inclusive. Odyseja porucznika Andresa 1939–1947” [All inclusive. The Odyssey of Lieutenant Andres 1939-1947]. The program includes meetings with authors, a photography workshop and the opening of the  display presenting unique photographs taken by Lt. Stanisław Andres on the combat trail of soldiers of the Second Polish Corps.

The exhibition presents World War II from the perspective of everyday experience of people living through it. The photographs which were taken by Lt. Andres do not concentrate on military actions, but document people, places and situations which soldiers found themselves in while on their combat trail running through the Near East to Italy. This is a unique testimony of that time recorded within the frames of a private camera.

The program of events is enriched by meetings with authors of books devoted to history and biographic studies. Agata Puścikowska will talk about Janina Lewandowska – a pilot woman murdered in Katyń. Michał Wójcik will raise the subject of family historical memory, referring to his book Duma i wstyd. O historii i potrzebie pamiętania [Pride and Shame. On History and the Need to Remember]. In turn, Łukasz Garbal will make listeners familiar with the figure of Melchior Wańkowicz, one of the best Polish feature writers of the 20^th century, the hero of the biography Wańkowicz. Życie na kraterze [Wańkowicz. The Life on a Crater].

To complement the program, Opole-based art photographer Sławoj Dubiel will run photography workshops mastering the technique of blueprint (cyanotype). The participants will get acquainted with one of the oldest photographic techniques and themselves will make copies in the characteristic blue colour. The workshop makes reference to the exhibition, the leading motif of which are photographs.

All the events will be held at the seat of the Central Museum of Prisoners of War in Opole, 3 Minorytów Street.
