We have again been guests at The Academy of Young Hearts
The Academy of Young Hearts is a very successful educational-development project addressed to elder inhabitants of Opole Region. It operates on the principles similar to those of the University of the Third Age. The initiative was launched in the academic year 2014/2015 and has been developed by the Technical University of Opole since then. Our workers take part in it as lecturers.
This time the speaker was Dr Ewelina Klimczak-Czaplicka of the Department of Education and Exhibitions. On 14 May, she delivered her lecture under the title “An artist with a heart – the life and output of Jan Marcin Szancer”. The turnout for the lecture held at a hall of the Technical University at Katowicka Street was high. The participants listened with great interest to the presentation which was richly illustrated with slides. The inspiration for the lecture was the temporary exhibition currently on at our Museum “Szancer, think of it!”.
The whole of the event was crowned with a pleasant moment for the listeners – the lecturer’s celebrative signing of credits obtained by ‘students with young hearts’.
