VI Museum Seminar in Wielopole Skrzyńskie
“On the wave or against the current” was the motto of this year’s seminar organized by Kantorówka – Centre for Documentation and History of the Region - Tadeusz Kantor Museum. Our Museum was represented in its meetings, which took place between 28 and 30 August, by Piotr Jędorowicz of the Department of Collections and Conservation.
The seminar attracted museologists, researchers and representatives of institutions of culture from different parts of Poland. The program included lectures, presentations and discussions devoted to, among others, contemporary museology, manners of telling about heritage, work with museum collections, as well as challenges encountered by workers of institutions of culture. This year’s edition has written in the celebration of the 30-year activity of Kantorówka.
On the second day of the seminar (29 August), Piotr Jędorowicz delivered his paper under the title “Reconstruction of individual histories. A museologist’s perspective”. It concerned the issues of particular significance to our work: documenting, researching and popularising the fates of prisoners of war, which allow not only preserving the memory of them, but also looking at big history from the perspective of an individual.
