Theatre workshops and the exhibition “Szancer, imagine that!”
The temporary exhibition, which thanks to our cooperation with Galicia Jewish Museum, is now on at our Opole seat, inspired our educators to prepare a special offer dedicated to students of primary and secondary schools.
The essence of the proposed activities is students’ participation in acting tasks executed by means of the technique of pantomime, which is preceded by students’ visiting the exhibition and listening to an introduction outlining the historical context. The concept of organizing workshops is connected with the specific nature of Jan Marcin Szancer’s output, where movement, dynamics and care for details in figures created in illustrations were of utmost importance to the illustrator.
The workshops are run under the supervision of a museal educator and drama instructor who specializes in pantomime, Dariusz Różański, professionally connected, among others, with the Municipal Culture Centre in Opole. With the help of engaging tasks and practical hints that teach how to work with one’s body on the stage, participants of the workshops obtain a rare opportunity of expressing emotions through movement and in a non-verbal way. These activities can be recommended also due to their integrative character, supporting the opening of individuals to their peer group.
The workshops are held between 8.00 and 12.00 at the Museum, 3 Minorytów Street in Opole. They take 60 minutes, offered at the price of PLN 8 per person. Applications are received at telephone number: 77 434 34 75 or by mail: .
We invite all interested to come, learn and mime!
