The second premier of the series ...but that's a different story now 2

Against all the odds is the second episode of the second season of the film series ...but that's a different story now (and the fourteenth altogether !) presented on the Museum's YouTube channel and Facebook page on the last Monday of each month since the beginning of 2021. Today's story is about selfless help provided for those who need it. Many such cases are known in history, and each passing day of the war in Ukraine provides new testimonies in Poland. Our documentary film is dedicated to the war mothers.

Among the women who rushed to provide food and material aid to Polish prisoners-of-war in WW2, and supported them in their daily existence behind the barbed wire of German camps, and who distinguish themselves, was Antonina Grygowa from Lublin, and her daughters.

The documentary, premiered today at 6 p.m. on our social media: Facebook and YouTube channel, tells not only the story about generosity, bravery and persistence of these exceptional women, but also is a testimony to their activities, mainly mail correspondence with prisoners-of-war, and which was given to the Museum, last year, by Andrzej Putz, the grandson of one of them. This story is narrated by Joanna Putz-Leszczyńska, Antonina Grygowa's great-granddaughter, and Marta Grudzińska from the Majdanek State Museum.

The series was prepared by us thanks to funding from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, and produced, according to the concept of Dr. Violetta Rezler-Wasielewska, by Sławomir Mielnik.

The next episode of the series will be presented on 28 March.

And now you are welcome to view the second episode of the second season Against all the odds.
