The end of 2025 saw new articles put on the shelves of our Museum shop. The stationery, postcards and notebooks as well as t-shirts featuring historical mottos, cotton bags and backpacks, were joined by the jubilee calendar for the year 2026 published in the book form and also ceramic mugs.

The calendar has already been presented in “The NewsFeed”. Now, concentrating on the other of the new products, let us mention that the item is coherent with the concept of the Museum mug owing to reaching for POWs’ authentic accounts. This kind of gift makes a very popular choice for many institutions. As for us, we decided to make it very simple: white textured ceramic which, in its form, makes reference to prewar vessels as well as popularly recognizable POKAL pattern – for instance, a series of glassware items sold by IKEA.

The mug is not only pleasant looking. It is very comfortable to hold in the hand, while its glazing raises the durability of the sentences that are inserted on it. The following are to choose: “This is not tea, but only herbs” and “Pour it around quickly, lest it should cool off!”. The first comes from the book Oflag by Marek Sadzewicz, POW interned in the oflags II B Arnswalde and II D Gross Born. The other represents the words of Romuald Malinowski, nom de guerre “Eagle”, 15-year-old Warsaw Insurgent and POW staying in, among others, Stalag 344 Lamsdorf – a quote used in the documentary “Lamsdorf/Łambinowice. The Museum and Site of Remembrance”.

Both patterns of the mug are available in our shop online and onsite in the seats of the Museum in Opole and Łambinowice.
