The General Election Assembly of the Association of Friends of the Central Museum of Prisoners of War

On 19 December, at the Opole seat of the Museum, there was held a general election assembly of members of the Association of Friends of the Central Museum of Prisoners of War.

The meeting was presided over by Prof. dr hab. Danuta Kisielewicz, chosen again for the function. Due to the fact that lately the Association has celebrated its 20th anniversary of activity, Dr Renata Kobylarz-Buła (Secretary) presented information on the activities of the Organization in the years 2004–2024. The participants of the meeting heard then the substantive report, followed by the financial one for the year 2025, as well as the report of the Auditing Commission. After the discussion over the reports, the General Assembly gave their vote of approval of the Board and the Auditing Commission to date.

In the next part of the assembly, there were new authorities of the Association chosen for the term of 2025–2029. Accordingly, Dr hab. Eng. Krystyna Macek-Kamińska was chosen President of the Association of Friends of the Central Museum of Prisoners of War. Next, the following were chosen as members of the Board: Edwarda Turkiewicz, Agnieszka Lechun, Renata Kobylarz-Buła and Jerzy Krasnodębski. The members of the Auditing Commission in turn are now: Prof. dr hab. Danuta Kisielewicz, Dr Przemysław Jagieła and Ryszard Czerwiński.

The General Assembly ended with A.O.B. and a speech by the newly-chosen President of the Association. Dr hab. Eng. Krystyna Macek-Kamińska declared her will to cooperate and passed her seasonal Christmas and New Year wishes. Then, the meeting was concluded with informal talks over tea and coffee as well as tasting Christmas gingerbread cookies.
