The ceremony was opened by the Warsaw Insurgents with their personal, full of emotions accounts of the August Uprising. Then, Director of the Museum, Dr Violetta Rezler-Wasielewska, thanked the participants for attending and referred the historical context of the anniversary to challenges which are posed to the moral condition of contemporary man. Afterwards, the floor was taken by daughter of a Warsaw Insurgent, Anna Witkowska, and President of the Board of Kedyw Directorate of Sabotage, Operation Centre “B” of the World Union of Veterans of Home Army, who represented the group of Insurgents’ families that had come to take part in the celebration from Warsaw. That voice was complemented by the speech made by the accompanying representative of the State Protection Service – the formation to continue the idea of the Operation Centre “B”. Following the remembrance roll call and gun salute, the participants laid flowers and lit candles at the foot of the Monument. The thematic walk “Here were Warsaw Insurgents” ended the ceremony at the Site of Remembrance. The walk consisted in visiting the remnants of Stalag 318/VIII F (344) Lamsdorf and the exhibition “Place with a scar” in the context of the fates of Warsaw Insurgents. At the same time, a meeting of youth and Helena Kamerska and Stanisław Wołczaski took place.
