Ryszard Zembaczyński has passed away
It is with great sorrow that we received the news of the death of Ryszard Zembaczyński – a local-government activist, Opole Voivode, many-year President of the City of Opole, who also participated in the life of our Museum.
Ryszard Zembaczyński was born in 1948. He connected his professional life and public activity with Opole Region. In the years 1990–1998, he held the post of Opole Voivode, being engaged in the activities aimed at maintaining the status of Opole Voivodeship during the implementation of the administrative reform of the country. He also held the post of the President of the City of Opole for three terms of office (2002–2014), delineating the directions for the development of the city. He was a man of dialogue, dedicated to solving problems of the local community and preserving the heritage of the Region, including also the difficult one which we take care of ourselves. Many a time, by participating in events organized by our Museum, he proved that he understood its significance and demonstrated the awareness and responsibility related to the office he was holding for historical evidence and historical memory.
We want to pass our condolences and words of sincere compassion to the Family, the Nearest and Friends.
