Our projects have been awarded!
During the today’s gala held at Jan Kochanowski Theatre in Opole, the results of an annual contest organized under the auspices of the Marshall of Opole Voivodeship Office were announced. Prizes for Animators and Creators of Culture were awarded to persons who are the most involved in the activity of Opole cultural environment, including members of our team.
Our Museum has been awarded in the category “Museal initiative” for the project “Echoes of 1944. From Warsaw to Lamsdorf”. The complexity of the project, its societal effect and educational character have been recognized, as well as its great significance for our region. Let us recall the fact that the project also met with appreciation on the central level, being awarded a prize in the 45th edition of the competition Museal Event of the Year Sybilla 2024.
On the other hand, in the category “Exhibition”, the display prepared by Dr Anna Czerner and Dr Kamil Weber under the title “I love you. See you later…” was awarded a distinction. This exhibition presents a picture of love during World War II in the context of captivity and separation of people who are close to each other. Additionally, it is accompanied by a catalogue under the same title that presents the question of love confronted with captivity. The catalogue is very original and intriguing as regards its graphic design.
The award was received by Director of our Museum, Dr Violetta Rezler-Wasielewska, who was accompanied by representatives of the Research Department – the authors of the awarded project: Dr Anna Czerner and Dr Kamil Weber. The other awarded projects had been submitted for the competition by such institutions based in Opole as: Opole Silesia Museum, Polish Song Museum in Opole, the Museum of Koźle Region and Silesian Piasts Museum in Brzeg. Individual recognitions went to Mateusz Korzecki, Andrzej Lach, Klaudia Małek, Wioletta Frankiewicz, Jolanta Zakrawacz, Dr hab. Dorota Świtała-Trybek and Helmut Paisdzior.
We would like to thank the jurors for the distinctions and to extend warm congratulations to all the awarded participants!
