On architecture at the “Łambinowice Museum Meeting” – an invitation
This year’s, the 33rd, edition of the European Heritage Days will be filled with events connected with architectural heritage. They are objects entered on the list of monuments and ones that are much newer yet not less beautiful or valuable. It is speculated that the latter could even be referred to as “young heritage”. It is for this reason that our Museum would like to invite everybody interested to attend a meeting with architects – Małgorzata and Andrzej Zatwarnicki on 10 September.
The event will be held as part of the cycle called “Łambinowice Museum Meetings”, and its aim is to discuss changes which have been made to the building of the Museum in Łambinowice in recent years and its nearest environs. The creators of this modernization project that was broken into a few stages are acknowledged architects of “Architop” Studio based in Opole. They successfully implemented a great deal projects, many of which were award-winning ones, including the rebuilding of the Opole seat of the Museum or the City Public Library in Opole, neighbouring on the Museum.
The Łambinowice seat of our institution has gone through a similar metamorphosis. The emphasis was laid primarily on creation of an entrance zone that would be comfortable for visitors. Apart from the hall, toilets, cloakroom and a little shop, it houses a large conference room with a panoramic window which probably has become the most recognizable and photogenic element of our Museum’s interiors. How the architects evaluate the functionality of their concepts after the time that has passed and whether the building will become part of “the young heritage” – are among the topics for the planned discussion. The meeting will be held on nearest Wednesday (10 September) at 17.oo; the venue – our seat at 4 Muzealna Street in Łambinowice.
We kindly invite everybody to join us!
