New Year meeting of Museum workers
Due to the jubilee celebrations in the Museum, which were held in December, the date of the annual Christmas and New Year meeting of workers was chosen to be in January 2026.
The meeting took place on 12 January at the Łambinowice seat of our Museum, like it is organized every year. The preparation of the event was the responsibility of the Social Team and the Department of Archives. The event was attended by persons currently employed in the Museum and, traditionally, retired workers. Among them there were many-year former Director of the Museum, Prof. dr hab. Edmund Nowak, for whom the meeting was an occasion to receive the Silver Medal for Merit to Culture “Gloria Artis” from the hands of the present Director, Dr Violetta Rezler-Wasielewska. The medal was awarded to him last December as the highest decoration of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage awarded to persons who are exceptionally active in the sphere of protection of culture and national heritage.
The Director of the Museum, Dr Violetta Rezler-Wasielewska, extended New Year wishes to the gathered. She summarised the activity of our institution in the year 2025 and presented the main directions along which the work will be developed in the just begun year 2026. Then, former Director Edmund Nowak, Stanisława and Edmund Borzemski, reminiscing on their time of employment in the Museum, expressed their satisfaction and appreciation of the current management and wished all the best to the members of the present team.
There was also a mini-recital given by Natalia Kryjom-Barylak of the Department of Public Relations (the lead singer of Ravel group) that was a pleasant addition to the overall atmosphere. So was the opportunity to recall the most important events that took place in the Museum in 2025. Like it was practised during the previous meeting, this was executed in a lighter fashion, that is in the form of charades, in which the gathered readily participated. The last element that crowned the pleasant atmosphere of the meeting were small gifts handed out to each of the present participants.
