Invitation to commemoration of the 77th anniversary of liberation of Stalag 344 Lamsdorf

On Thursday, 17 March 2022, in front of the Monument to the Martyrdom of Prisoners-of-War in Łambinowice will be held an anniversary ceremony related to the liberation of Stalag 344 Lamsdorf. The programme of the event includes the opening of an educational exhibition entitled Place with a scar.

This important for the Museum event will begin at 1.00 p.m., in front of the Monument to the Martyrdom of Prisoners-of-War. This part of the programme includes: a speech, pray, laying flowers and lighting candles. At 2 p.m., at the seat of the former Stalag 318/VIII F (344) Lamsdorf, there will be held the ceremonial opening of an educational exhibition entitled Place with a scar.

Their presence in the commemoration, to participation of which you are invited by Tomasz Karpiński, Mayor of the Łambinowice Commune, and Dr. Violetta Rezler-Wasielewska, Director of the Central Museum of Prisoners-of-War, have been confirmed by many guests, including representatives of state and local officials, diplomatic services and families of former prisoners-of-war.

The commemoration is held under the honorary patronage of the Minister of Culture, National Heritage, prof. Piotr Gliński, the Governor of Opole Province, Sławomir Kłosowski, and the Marshal of the Opole Province. Andrzej Buła. The media patronage is held by: TVP 3 Opole, Radio Opole S.A., Radio DOXA, „Nowa Trybuna Opolska” i „Nowiny Nyskie”.

As in the previous years, those who want to attend the ceremony are offered free transport: the coach will leave from the car park in front of "Toropol" on Barlickiego Street in Opole at 11.45 a.m. The return to Opole is scheduled for around 4 p.m.
