End of another stage of digitalisation of collections

Digitalisation of the Museum’s collections is one of the tasks which is implemented all around the year in the workshops of the Department of Collection and Conservation. Sometimes, when digitising pictures of museum objects, the activities of the team are supported by an Opole based photographer, Sławoj Dubiel.

In March and April 2022, Sławoj Dubiel made and gave the Museum the digital pictures of 500 museum objects. Those objects were given to the Museum’s collections (as donations or purchased) in 2021 and 2022. They included elements of uniforms and equipment of Polish Army soldiers, prisoner-of-war identity tags, memorial items made by prisoners in captivity, and objects found on the grounds of the former Stalag 318/VIII F (344) Lamsdorf: canteens, mess-tins, fragments of spoons and other objects of everyday use.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the Donors once again and show them how important each of the donated POW artefacts is.
