Director of the Museum appearing at a conference in Warsaw
The Museum of Polish History is the venue of the second edition of the scientific conference called “Sites of Remembrance – needs, challenges, prospects”. Our institution is represented by Dr Violetta Rezler-Wasielewska, Director of our Museum.
Dr Violetta Rezler-Wasielewska is delivering her paper under the title We are connected by the Site. The cooperation of the Central Museum of Prisoners of War with the societal environment, in which she presents the idea developed by our Museum, consisting in the establishment of the Board for Protection of the Site of National Remembrance in Łambinowice. The activity of this body has been successfully implemented for several years now, being an example of a multifaceted cooperation between institutions, the local government, private citizens who are owners of the area, and local community aiming to secure effective care of the Site of National Remembrance in Łambinowice. The contribution is delivered within Session V of the Conference, run under the heading Sites of remembrance and monuments.
The organizer of the Conference is the Department of Cultural Heritage Abroad and Sites of Remembrance of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. The event serves the purpose of exchanging ideas and good practices, as well as promotes discussions on directions of work in sites of remembrance.
