Today, 1 October, Dr. Piotr Stanek has worked at the archive of the Western Institute of Zygmunt Wojciechowski in Poznań. He continued the archival research he had started in November 2019, and stopped due to the pandemic.
The Head of the Research Department was mainly looking for pieces of information on the history of the Lamsdorf camps in 1939-1945. He was particularly interested in archive sources on those parts of the complex intended for the civilians who came from the Warsaw after the Uprising. Moreover, he sought out documents from German oflags and materials on the fate the soldiers of 2nd Rifle Division interned during World War II in neutral Switzerland, as the Institute also keeps such documents. The effect of this work will be revealed in further articles.
