“The war, graves and scientists. The archaeological research in Łambinowice – season 2025” is the title of the coming event in the cycle of “Łambinowice Museum Meetings”, which will be held on 18 July 2025 (Friday) at 17.00 at the seat of the Museum at 4 Muzealna Str. in Łambinowice.

The meeting will provide an occasion to sum up the successive season of archaeological research conducted at the Site of National Remembrance in Łambinowice. The speakers will be Prof. Michał Pawleta and Dr Kamil Karski – members of the research team who are carrying out the project “Lamsdorf/Łambinowice. The archaeology of memory”.

During the meeting the latest results of the work run within the area of the Old POW Cemetery – a necropolis which even though may seem so well known, still attracts attention with surprising discoveries – will be presented. The participants will have an opportunity to learn about interesting details, get to know who the deceased that were found in the unmarked graves were, as well as to get acquainted with the further research plans.

The interdisciplinary project “Lamsdorf/Łambinowice. The archaeology of memory” is implemented thanks to the support from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
