A debate concerning the publication “Obozy niemieckie w latach 1939–1945” [German camps in the years 1939-1945] – an invitation
We kindly invite all interested to take part in the discussion panel dedicated to the new publication being proceedings of the conference entitled Obozy niemieckie w latach 1939–1945 w pamięci i dokumentach – przegląd badań [German camps in the years 1939-1945 in the memory and documents – a review of research]. The meeting is planned on 27 May at 18.00 hours in Warsaw (82 Sienna Street). Admission is free.
The discussion will provide the opportunity to get acquainted with the current state studies into German camp system, including concentration, extermination, labour and prisoner-of-war establishments. The debate will be attended by specialists of the leading research and museal institutions in Poland: Dr Joanna Nikel, representing Pilecki Institute, Dr Emilia Figura-Osełkowska of Wojciech Kętrzyński Northern Institute in Olsztyn as well as Dr Danuta Drywa of Stutthof Museum in Sztutowo. Our Museum will be represented in the debate by Dr Piotr Stanek, the author of the contribution under the title „Opieka medyczna nad powstańcami warszawskimi w obozach Wehrmachtu” [Medical care provided to Warsaw Insurgents in Wehrmacht camps], published in the above-mentioned proceedings. The whole meeting will be moderated by Dr hab. Piotr Majewski, professor of Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw.
The book is an outcome of the scientific conference organized in 2022 by Wojciech Kętrzyński Northern Institute, Stutthof Museum in Sztutowo and our own institution.
