1.5 % allotted to the Association of Friends to the Central Museum of Prisoners-of-War

For years your support in the form of 1.5% of the income tax allotted to our Partner Association of Friends to CMJW has enabled this public benefit organization to carry out its statutory activity which exerts a real influence on the development of our Museum, in particular in the sphere of historical and civic education. This is nothing more than a long-term process of formation of attitudes sensitive to and respectful of our historical heritage, but – in contemporary times – including all manifestations of violence as well.

The history of camps designed for POWs sand civilians, which were based in Lamsdorf/Łambinowice, is painful, yet makes a very important page of the history as such at the same time. For over 20 years the mission of the Association of Friends to the Central Museum of Prisoners-of-War has been preservation of this heritage and education. As a public benefit organization it provides a substantive and financial support to the Museum.

The collected means are allocated by the Association to collecting museum items, their conservation, scientific research, two cyclical contests of educational character as well as its publishing activity. Thanks to you we can also organize exhibitions, lessons in the Museum and participate in taking care of the Site of National Remembrance in Łambinowice, carrying on our action called “Present me with memory”, thanks to which successive crosses in the Old POW Cemetery in Łambinowice are undergoing conservation.
