The Central Museum of Prisoners-of-War is managed by the Director, who is appointed for the post and removed from it by the Board of Opole Province, in compliance with the principles and the mode defined in the regulations in force. The Director manages the activity of the Museum, supervises its property and is responsible for it. The detailed ranges of the Director’s and Deputy-Director’s duties are defined in the Organizational Regulations of the Central Museum of Prisoners-of-War. At present the post of the Director is held by Dr. Violetta Rezler-Wasielewska, and the Deputy-Director – Dr. Renata Kobylarz-Buła.
The heads of the individual Museum departments or section coordinators manage the running of the activity of the organizational units they are responsible for and answer directly to the Director. The detailed range of responsibilities of the individual units is also defined in the Organizational Regulations of the Central Museum of Prisoners-of-War.
The Museum consists of scientists, researchers and enthusiasts of the history of Opole Silesia, whose work has been recognized with the highest state awards and distinctions, as well as prizes won in numerous contests. The Museum has two seats: in Łambinowice, with the Department of Collections and Conservation and the Department of Education and Exhibitions based there, and in Opole, where there are the Scientific Department, the archive, the Administrative-Economic Department, the Financial Department and the Director’s office.
