The basis of teaching at the Central Museum of Prisoners-of-War In Łambinowice-Opole is the educational potential of the Site of National Remembrance at Łambinowice and the very Museum itself, that is the tragic past, cognition of which can facilitate comprehension of causes and effects of hatred, contempt and violence used by people towards others; the authentic nature of the place and material traces of history; moreover - professional personnel and indispensable infrastructure (a library, seminar halls, guest rooms, bicycle rental to hire equipment to visit the history-nature path).

The educational activity at the Central Museum of Prisoners-of-War in Łambinowice-Opole has been run since the very beginning of its existence, that is for over 40 years. Since 2004 it has been realized within the educational program called "Pedagogy of remembrance", which assumes active cognition of history. The continually enriched educational offer includes propositions of a variety of activities addressed basically to students of junior and senior secondary schools, teachers and other persons who are interested in conducting education at sites of remembrance. Pupils of elementary schools can participate in some projects as well. Activities are held in the areas of former camps and in war cemeteries, and also in the both seats of the Museum (Łambinowice and Opole). Furthermore, employees of the Museum run museum lessons and lectures at schools, libraries and other culture-education centers. In order to adjust the classes to the participants' interests, expectations and potential, supervisors responsible for the groups should arrange for all the activities with the relevant Museum personnel.

Applications relating to organization of activities at Łambinowice are accepted by the Education-Exhibition Department there, while those in Opole - by the Science-Research Department, which coordinates also running lessons and lectures outside the Museum.
