Europe Day

Today we celebrate Europe Day, also called day of tolerance, human rights and European Integration. The day is very important for us on symbolic account of the Site of National Remembrance in Łambinowice, in frame of which our  Museum performs its mission and over which it has its custody. We have been appreciated by the European Commission which awarded to the six sits, located in the boundaries of the Site of National Remembrance in Łambinowice, the European Heritage Label. Thus, we joined the 48 sits which have been rewarded that way so far.

The given label is awarded to places of great European historical and culture importance or those which played a significant role in development of European values which are the milestones of European integration. The site of remembrance we have custody over, is a unique testimony to the fate of victims of war conflicts, and as such, spreads a universal and intergenerational message for international peace and coexistence.

A motto of the European Heritage Label says : Europe starts here. It is worth to remember about Łmbinowice heritage, thinking about all countries on our continent, among them  those which are engulfed in war conflicts, ethnic and religious feuds.

Below we present the congratulations received on having received the European Heritage Label.
